Distinguished Alumni/nae of the Year
In 2002, Norfolk Catholic School began presenting the "Distinguished Alumni/nae Award". Nominations are accepted at any time throughout the year of individuals who exemplify the highest qualities of Catholic education and render distinguished service to the Catholic Church and to his or her community.
The 2011 Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award was presented to Jeremy Murphy during the All-School Reunion Reception held on Friday, July 29th. Pictured below are Jeremy and his wife Mimi along with their daughter, Cecilia. Jeremy currently serves as the Associate Director of Education Issues for the Nebraska Catholic Conference. His work focus is entirely on responding to the public policy needs of the Catholic Schools in the three diocese of Nebraska. This past February, he organized an Educational Rally for Free Choice in Lincoln - one of the first known of this kind. Not only is Jeremy an advocate for Catholic Education around the entire state, but there is not a time that Jeremy does not respond with gratitude whenever his alma mater reaches out to him in any way.
Congratulations, Jeremy Murphy!
