School Service ProjectsKiwanis Club

At Norfolk Catholic School, it is impressed upon each student the importance of giving back to their community - and to the WORLD!  This past year, many classes completed countless projects for those "less fortunate" and we share a few of them here.  Watch here throughout the year for updates on similar project that our students are involved with:

  • The Norfolk Catholic FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) sponsored a food drive for the Norfolk Food Pantry.  More than 800 items of food were donated by the staff and students.
  • Mrs. Gentile’s Social Science classes at the high school collected pajamas as part of the ‘Peace, Warmth & Pajamas” project for the Salvation Army.
  • Mrs. Wieser’s sophomore theology classes made fleece tie blankets and gave them to the Children’s Hospital in Omaha and St. Joe’s Nursing Home.
  • Mr. Fisher’s freshmen theology & Mrs. Van Fleet’s freshman English classes donated goodies and wrote letters to send to soldiers overseas.
  • The High School Girls Basketball Team wrapped presents for Toys for Tots.
  • Members of the Norfolk Catholic Kiwanis Builder’s Club (grades 7-9) teamed up with employees from GreenFiber and served the noon meal at the Salvation Army during Christmas break.
  • Mrs. Arens 4th grade class hosted a reception and sharing session after morning Mass, inviting parishioners to come celebrate Advent by praying and sharing their own Christmas memories with the class.
  • The 2nd and 6th graders decorated more than 900 cookies and donated them to the Norfolk Soup Kitchen.
  • The 1st grade classes all collected toys and donated them to Bright Horizons.
  • The 5th grade organized a raffle & bake sale to raise money to send to Haiti and to adopt a local parish family for the holidays.
  • Both the high school and the elementary school helped obtain coats for the parish coat drive.
  • As part of their monthly “Mission Jeans Day”, Norfolk Catholic Schools collected and donated $367.00 for the Good Neighbors program here in Norfolk.  Every month, these funds are coupled and given to either an organization or family in need.
  • On a regular basis, students from various classes visit area nursing homes and sing to the residents.
  • Many classes raised funds within their classrooms and used those monies to adopt families who are in need of help.
